It was not too long ago, when almost all the knowledge that people needed to live, was contained within the household or the village. People grew their own food, built their own houses, made their own clothes and all that knowledge was present in their life-worlds. Today there is scarcely a person who would know how to make the simplest thing we use in our daily lives from start to finish.
